As part of our Women in Sport initiative, we were lucky enough to have two brilliant sportswomen in St Clare's to talk to us about sport. Ms Nessa Byrd, captain of the Cavan Ladies Football team, and Erinn Galligan, captain of the Cavan Ladies Camogie team, told us all about their sports, and how they enjoy their training, and being part of their teams. They showed us what we can achieve, in any sport we may be interested in. They encouraged us all to try out sports, to find what we like, and to train and practice. Who knows where it may take us! It was a very inspiring session.

Cycling
4th class have started Cycling lessons with Francis from Bike Green. Firstly Francis told us all about cycling safety, and the importance of always wearing a helmet. He showed us how to fit and tighten our helmets. Then, it was time to cycle! Cycling is brilliant fun, and is such good exercise too. We can't wait for our next lesson.

Dance
We are all enjoying our dance lessons with Kevin. We have dancing every Monday, as part of our PE. It is great fun, and great exercise too. Don't forget to wear your PE gear!
Also, we have the option of attending Zumba lessons after school on Fridays, with Ms Hughes. We hope to be appearing on Dancing With The Stars, or Strictly Come Dancing, very very soon!!

Library Visit
On Thursday last Ms Doyle's class paid a visit to the Johnston Library in Cavan. We had a wonderful time, browsing through an amazing selection of books. We looked at the shipwreck in the fish tank, and we admired the huge painting of Gulliver in the Land of Lilliput. We learned about Gulliver in English class recently, so we understood what the painting meant. The library is free to visit, and free to join, you just need a parent to sign your application form, and you're able to borrow 6 books at a time! We can't wait to visit again.
