Gymnastics

Fourth Class have gymnastics lessons every Wednesday with our new coach Esther.

Art

Ms Burns' class mixed white and black paint with various colours to create different tints and shades. We created a collage using the new colours that we made.

Bookworms!

We read a lot in 4th class. To help us remember what page we're on, Ms Doyle's class designed and made colourful bookmarks.

Art

As part of our art lessons Mrs Cosgrove/ Mr McVeety's class made autumnal trees. The students worked collaboratively to draw the trees using each others' arms and then mixed primary colours to create some autumn colours. After that, they used their fingers and brushes to create an autumn scene.

Science

As part of our Science lessons, Ms Doyle's class also carried out the experiment to investigate how soil/clay sinks to the bottom of a bottle. The first photo shows our bottles when we shook them and mixed the soil, pebbles and small twigs. The second photo shows how they had settled overnight. We saw how this is the first stage of water treatment. We will leave them for a second night and find out whether this helps the water get a little bit cleaner.
Day 1

Day 2
Update: Day 3: further settling has occurred, the water is now even clearer. Stage 1 of our Water Treatment is complete.

Ms Burns' 4th Class have been learning about how particles in lakes and reservoirs settle to the bottom. We mixed clay, sand and stones of various sizes with water. We left the mixture to settle overnight.

Welcome Back

Ms Burns' Class on our first week back at school.

Welcome Back!

Welcome back everybody to a new school year!
All the girls in 4th class are back at school, and hard at work. Tin Whistle starts tomorrow with Padraig, and we are all excited to be back playing music together again. Don't forget your tin whistle every Wednesday, and practice at home if you want to be a good musician.
